Do you use the correct cream for your feet?
As a Podiatrist, I see a lot of different feet every day. It’s often the forgotten part of the body. Usually it takes for something to go wrong or for someone to be in pain to come and seek my advice. This is really unfortunate because there are a lot of things you can do to prevent foot pain or damage occurring.
I recommend that everyone should have their feet checked annually by a Podiatrist.
One of the easiest and best ways to look after your feet this summer is to apply a heel balm/moisturiser to your feet daily. Make it part of your bedtime routine and you won’t miss a session. This will keep your skin from drying, flaking or thickening over the summer months. It also reduces that risk of picking up infections.
Most people don’t realise that the skin on your feet is thicker and often more dry than other parts of your body. Just like you use a face moisturiser and a body moisturiser, you need to use a foot specific cream.
What’s my favourite foot cream? I personally love Pedicreme by Walkers which is available to purchase from The Foot Studio. Your foot cream should be at least 10% urea based to be of any benefit. This particular cream is non-greasy and you can see benefits after one application!
