Kids Feet

Kids feet are not just ‘little adult feet’. We like to take our time, assess, diagnose and treat the patient as a whole.

Our Podiatry rooms are spacious and used to being filled with families and lots of kids!

Did you know that in-toeing (or pigeon toe) is actually a normal progression of development? It’s normal to see some level of internal rotation of the legs between approximately 3-5 years of age. This should start to straighten around school age.

It’s advised to have your child professionally assessed if you notice any of the following; one foot is severely more pigeon toed than the other, frequent tripping and falling is occurring, if you notice uneven wear on your child’s shoes or if they complain of any pain or discomfort.

Kids normally have quite high pain threshold, so if you do hear your child mention or ‘complain’ of foot pain it is advised to have this check by a professional.

Growing pain are never just ‘growing pains’ and lots of simple, gentle treatment options can make all the difference.

Pain at any age isn’t nice, but as a child it inhibits social interaction, development and so much more.

If you have any questions about your Childs feet or lower limb health please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us.
