When most people think about a skin and nail appointment, they think about how their feet will look when they leave: smoother skin, neater nails and feet that feel refreshed. What many people don’t see is everything that happens behind the scenes to make that possible. At The Foot Studio, every skin and nail appointment is built on safety, education, infection control and preventive care.

It starts before you arrive

Long before you walk through the door, there’s a lot happening behind the scenes.

Every reusable instrument goes through a strict cleaning, sterilisation and reprocessing procedure. Instruments are cleaned, inspected, packaged and sterilised, then stored according to current standards.

These processes are designed to minimise risk, so every client receives care in a safe and professional environment.

Recently, our team completed a full review of our instrument reprocessing procedures, to make sure we continue to meet current standards across both our podiatry services and The Nail Hub.

Every podiatry appointment includes a health assessment

Many people come in for help with hard skin, thickened nails or general foot care. A podiatry skin and nail appointment is also a chance to check on your foot health.

Depending on your needs, we may assess:

Sometimes small changes in the feet can be an early sign of a wider health concern.

A focus on looking after your feet early

One of the biggest differences between podiatry-led skin and nail care and beauty treatments is the focus on prevention.

Many foot problems develop slowly over months or years. Picking up changes early can help reduce the risk of discomfort, infection, ingrown nails, skin breakdown and other complications.

Our goal isn’t just how your feet look today, but helping keep them healthy for years to come.

More than just feet

Healthy feet help people stay active, connected and doing the things they love, whether that’s walking the dog, playing with the grandkids, running a marathon, exploring a hiking trail or simply having a comfortable day.

We believe movement is one of the most important things for health and wellbeing, and healthy feet are often what makes movement possible.

The Nail Hub, a place to relax

The Nail Hub was designed by podiatrists for people who want to relax and enjoy a manicure or pedicure in a safe environment. Manicures and pedicures are done by our Nail Therapist and don’t treat any specific conditions. If our Nail Therapist notices anything of concern, they’ll refer you to our podiatry team for a review.

For many people, The Nail Hub is the perfect place to unwind, enjoy a coffee and leave feeling refreshed, knowing their care has been designed by foot health professionals. See the Nail Hub menu.

For more complex concerns, our podiatrists can help with:

Our goal is for everyone to get the level of care that’s right for them, whether that’s a relaxing treatment, podiatry care or a bit of both.

Summer feet are made in winter

Winter is a great time to look after your skin and nails. Working on dry skin, cracked heels, thickened nails and other concerns now gives you plenty of time to build healthy habits before sandals and summer adventures return.

The next time you sit back and enjoy a skin and nail appointment, remember there’s a lot happening behind the scenes that you never see. And that’s exactly how it should be. When the systems, training, sterilisation, assessments and care are all working well, all you need to do is relax and enjoy the experience.

From all of us at The Foot Studio, thank you for trusting us with your foot health. If you have any questions, call us on (08) 9280 0223.
