The Foot Studio originally began as an educational platform, long before it evolved into a podiatry practice. It grew from co-founder Laura Kelly’s vision for a light-filled space where podiatry could be done to its fullest potential, using the latest innovative technology. Laura knew podiatry was so much more than most people thought, and she set out to change how it was seen. Environmental design was a key element from the very start, creating a space where both plants and people could thrive.

“If a plant can’t survive, then how could you expect a human to?”
Laura’s attention to detail, her love of podiatry and her drive to keep learning and discovering new treatments and techniques to help her patients have shaped the studio from day one. That vision was backed by her husband and co-founder Courtney, who stepped away from a thriving career in the marine industry, where he was on track to become a ship’s captain.
In the early days, Laura and Courtney ran rural and remote clinics in the Wheatbelt together. They were extremely long days, but ones they look back on fondly. They worked incredibly hard and were utterly obsessed with helping every patient who walked through their doors. Seeing how grateful people were to receive high quality podiatry brought real joy and made the work so rewarding. “I’m a farm girl who grew up in rural NSW, so I felt very at home,” Laura says.
Together they reinvested back into the clinic, and the studio slowly grew. What began as a podiatry clinic has evolved into a multi-practitioner studio with podiatry, a footwear and essentials shop, a nail hub for beauty appointments and an onsite gym.
Having the right space and design has made all the difference. It gives the team room to do thorough assessments, host education events, bring people together for group sessions and meetings, and collaborate with the wider health community. Above all, it’s a really great space for patients and the team to spend time in.
At the heart of it all, we value treating people like people: connecting, listening and understanding what each person wants to achieve. Every individual is different, and so is every solution. No matter who comes through our doors, our mission is to provide the high quality, best practice podiatry care and recommendations they deserve.
Our purpose is to help people live happier, healthier lives from the ground up. We believe the role of podiatry goes far beyond feet. It’s about helping people live the lives they want to live, whether that means walking without pain, keeping up with grandkids, returning to sport, or simply feeling more comfortable every day.
Best health care for all means creating inclusive pathways that can be tailored to each person’s goals, health, preferences and needs.
Health care can so often feel rushed and busy. We enjoy slowing things down and doing them properly, because that’s how we get to truly look after people in an ever busy world.
We are proud to care for our local community in Claremont and across Perth. Our roots in rural and remote health still run deep, with patients travelling from all across WA to see us, and telehealth means we can keep supporting people and improving access to care, wherever they live.
