Claim from your fund

Many extras policies include podiatry. Check with your fund what you’re covered for.

We don’t offer on-the-spot health fund claiming. You pay on the day, and we give you an itemised receipt to claim from your fund. Most funds let you claim through their app.

Medicare

GP Chronic Condition Management Plan

If you have a chronic condition, your GP may set up a GP Chronic Condition Management Plan and refer you to a podiatrist. Eligible patients can claim a Medicare rebate for up to 5 allied health services per calendar year, shared across all allied health types such as podiatry, physio and dietetics.

  • A gap payment applies. The rebate covers part of the fee, not all of it.
  • Your referral is valid for the time written on it, or 18 months from your first visit if no time is stated.
  • We’ll send a written report to your GP after your first and last referred visits.
  • Plans set up before 1 July 2025 can still be used until 30 June 2027.

What to bring: your GP referral and your Medicare card.

NDIS

Self-managed and plan-managed

We see self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants. We’re not able to see NDIA-managed (agency-managed) participants. If you’re not sure how your plan is managed, check with your support coordinator or plan manager. We can provide reports and quotes for your NDIS plan.

What to bring: your NDIS number and plan dates, your plan manager’s contact details (if plan-managed), your plan goals if you’re happy to share them, and any reports from other therapists.

DVA

Department of Veterans’ Affairs

We accept DVA Gold and White Cards with a valid referral from your GP.

What to bring: your DVA card and GP referral.

Support at Home

Home care packages

Support at Home replaced Home Care Packages in November 2025. If you receive Support at Home, your podiatry may be funded through your plan. Many home care providers already refer to us, so check with your provider what’s covered.

You can also ask your provider to use The Foot Studio as your podiatry provider. We see you in the studio, or at home through our home visits.

What to bring: your provider’s name and contact details, and any referral or care plan they’ve given you.

Paying privately

No referral needed

We’ll always talk you through your options and what each one costs, so you can choose what suits you and your budget. If you’d like treatment that involves extra costs, such as orthotics or nail surgery, we’ll give you an estimate before going ahead. See our Pricing Policy for current fees.

Cancellations

24 hours’ notice

We ask for at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule. A fee applies for late cancellations and missed appointments. See our Cancellation Policy.

Medicare information current as of November 2026. Rules can change, so check with your GP or Services Australia.
